Postdoctoral Fellowship in Metal Homeostasis at Plant- Microbe Interactions, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain

Position Profile:

Postdoctoral researcher with PhD and/or postdoctoral experience in Protein Biochemistry, particularly in protein-protein interaction, proteomics, or protein purification. Experience in anaerobic systems, membrane proteins, or nitrogen fixation will be valued. Proficiency in English and/or Spanish is required.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work in the group Metal Homeostasis at Plant- Microbe Interactions (www.metalsym.com) at Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas (UPM-INIA) (www.cbgp.upm.es) in Madrid, Spain. He/she will undertake a multidisciplinary Project to study how metals are exchanged from transporters to final acceptor proteins in biological nitrogen fixation. This position is supported by grants from the Spanish State Agency for Research and from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Duration:

1 year. Upon positive evaluation, the contract can be renewed on a yearly basis for up to four years.

Salary:

Final salary depending on qualifications and experience based on the Spanish Juan de la Cierva and Cajal Programs.

Start Date:

January 2021.
